Chasing a dog...picture scavenger hunt
Today, we were given an assignment that required the use of a camera. With the camera and a list of objects to take pictures of, we headed out for our hunt. This activity was exhausting. It was an integration of physical education and technology. Finding the objects on the list was easy, expecpt for the boonie dog picture. We had to chase that crazy dog in order to get a picture. Other than the bonnie dog incident, the activity was fun. Afterwards, we uploaded the pictures and viewed a few from each group. Now our class is over so I will end it here.

Online word processing software
The 4 online word processing software that we explored were: buzzword, inetword, thinkfree, and googledocs. The buzzword was the software that we were assigned to evaluate. We gave it a four since we had so much trouble getting on and uploading documents. the best that we were introduced to was googledocs. The software had many templates and features that we would use in out courses. Basically, all these softwares allow people to post up a word document where others can read and revise the document.
Exploring the online processing software was great and allowed us to see things that will be useful to us.

Mnemograph
Mnemograph.com was a tool that we used to create a timeline. It is a great tool since it was so easy and simple to use. Students will have a great time creating timelines and will be engaged in the activity since it is fun. Not only will they be having fun, they will also be learning since the information the insert into the timeline will be something related to a subject. while they are typing the information in, they are also reading it, so they are learning at the same time.
BLOG
This blog that we are doing is an online journal that people can view and respond to posts. This is a great tool to use in the classroom to allow students to write journals for others to read. As a teacher, I can have my students make a blog on whatever topic they'd like. They will be informed that grammar, structure, and spelling will be graded. Students will read and evaluate each other's work.

Web Flow Chart
During our ED Tech class, we were assigned to do a web flow chart using an online software. The software that we chose was MindMeister. In the beginning of doing our web there were a couple of problems since it was our first time to use this software. We had to click on almost all the tabs just to get familiar with it. After getting ourselves used to the software, we started making our final product. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate our software with an 8, only because we were not entirely familiar with it. once I get familiar with it, I'll give it a 10. I have tried using the Gliffy software to make a web flow chart, but the MindMeister was much simpler to use. Of the three softwares that we were introduced to (MindMeister, Gliffy, and Mind42), I would say that MindMeister is by far the best one.
This software is great for story maps as well as any other class activities that may require mapping.

Welcome to my blog
Good Afternoon,
I am currently in the ED 480 class and we were asked by our instructor, Mr. Jenkins, to do a little blog about what we've learned so far, and what we expect to learn. So far, I've learned to use different softwares to create a mind map. Two out of three of the software that we were introduced to are really helpful and will certainly be used in my classroom when I become a teacher. I also learned about the difference between propriety software and open source software. Propriety software is a software owned by an individual or company, whereas opensource software is free. Another thing that I've learned is this whole thing right here---how to create a blog. Moreover, there are many other things about technology that I am looking forward to learning about. The reason why I took this course is becasue it is a required course to graduate, but now that I've seen what we can really do with technology, I am taking this course because I WANT to.
I expect to learn about the different tools that I could use as a teacher to enhance the learning of my students. I would want to know how to integrate technology with other subjects to have a meaningful and authentic learning experience for my students
